Pressure Setting & Certification

As a NABIC trained and approved distributor, VIP can set and certify suitable valves to your required pressure before despatch, using our in-house testing facilities.

  • Pressure setting to your specified requirement
  • Suitability checked against the model and spring range
  • Pressure test certificates available on request
  • Availability and delivery confirmed by our team

Tell us your application, valve model and required set pressure. Include any project certification requirements with your enquiry.

Discuss Your Requirements

Certificate charges and lead times will be confirmed with your quotation.

Your NABIC Questions Answered

Practical guidance on replacements, pressure setting and technical information.

What is the difference between the NABIC 500 and 542?
The Fig 500 is a high lift safety valve designed primarily for unvented hot water heating systems where high-capacity emergency steam relief is required. The Fig 542 is a standard lift safety relief valve designed primarily for hot water boiler protection. Both have wider applications, but the correct choice depends on the system duty, set pressure and required discharge capacity. Check the relevant manufacturer data or contact VIP with your requirements.
What information do I need to order a replacement?
Send the figure number, valve size, inlet and outlet connections, set pressure and application. A serial number and clear photographs of the complete valve and its identification plate are also helpful. Include your quantity and required delivery date. If some details are unreadable, send what you have so our team can help.
Can VIP supply a valve at my required set pressure?
VIP can set suitable NABIC valves before despatch using our in-house testing facilities. The available setting depends on the valve model, size, spring range and application. Give us the set pressure specified for your system and we will confirm the supply options.
Can I request a pressure test certificate?
Yes. Request a pressure test certificate with your enquiry or order. Tell us if you need a certificate for each valve or any specific project documentation. Applicable charges will be confirmed with your quotation or shown during ordering.
Is the nominal valve size the same as the connection size?
Not always. On the Fig 500, the outlet connection is one size larger than the inlet. On the Fig 500T, both inlet and outlet threads are one size larger than the nominal valve bore: for example, a DN20 Fig 500T has 1-inch connections. Check the model's dimensional table and connection details when ordering.
Where can I find dimensions and discharge capacities?
Use the technical links above to open the manufacturer's model page, including its dimensions, discharge tables and downloadable literature. Capacity depends on the application and pressure; selecting a valve solely to match the pipe size is insufficient. Final selection should be confirmed by the person responsible for the system design.
